       Basis of Faith 

We believe in ..  The one true God who lives eternally in three persons,  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit . 

The sovereign power, love and grace of God in creating, sustaining, ruling redeeming and judging the world . 

The authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures as inspired by God and which form his written word-fully trustworthy for faith and conduct . 

God’s love for all people, male and female . Men and women made in God’s image, to love, be holy and care for creation . 

The fall of mankind, corrupted by sinful disobedience to God, and so incurring divine anger and judgement .  Therefore every person is under the just condemnation of God, and needs salvation . 

The incarnation of God’s eternal Son the Lord Jesus Christ truly divine, also truly human, born of the virgin Mary yet without sin . 

The sacrifice of Christ on the cross ; dying in our place, and by his loving grace paying the price of our sin and  disobedience, and so reconciling us to God . 

The defeat of death and the Devil, through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and his bodily resurrection from the dead . 

The ascension of Christ to the Father in heaven, to reign and to mediate as the only Saviour of the world .
